ThirdLove's Balconette Bras
Our balconette bras have a variety of styles in limited-edition lingerie fabrics and colors to choose from so you’re never bored as the seasons change. They also come in A-H cup sizes, including our signature half cup sizes.
What is a Balconette Bra?
If you’re looking for slightly less coverage than a classic demi or t-shirt bra, our balconette bra is a great bra for you. The style of the balconette bra is in the name, since it lifts from the bottom similar to a balcony, with straps that lift from the sides of the cup. In traditional style bras like our 24/7® Classic T-Shirt Bra, the straps begin more toward the center of the cup.
What Breast Shape is Best for Balconette Bras?
Balconette bras are the perfect style for most breast shapes, especially if you have fuller breasts. While not the same lingerie style as a traditional push-up bra, the balconette bra will uplift your breasts and give them a more rounded shape.
What to Wear with a Balconette Bra
You can wear your balconette bra with any outfit that conceals the straps. We recommend wearing your balconette bra with lower cut tops and dresses since the straps will remain concealed, but you’ll still get a gorgeous shape to your breast without any fabric covering them up. You’ll get a perfect fit and great lift that enhances your natural shape. If you’re wearing a strapless dress, however, you should consider our strapless bra styles. Relish in this look because you’re going to stun in it.
Worried about straps slipping with a balconette bra if you have sloping shoulders? Don’t! As with all ThirdLove bras, our straps are no slip on every style. If you’re still not sure and want to know your lingerie is the perfect fit, our Perfect Fit Guarantee gives you 60 days of worry-free wear. So if it’s not the perfect fit and coverage for you, we’ll take it back. With so many great bra styles in our collection, you’re sure to find the perfect fit that’s just for you.
What is the Difference Between a Balconette vs Demi Bra?
At first glance, balconette and demi bras seem very similar, but there are a few key differences that can make you choose one over the other (or both!).
Coverage
Both bra designs offer less coverage compared to the classic bra styles. The balconette bra usually covers around 50% of the breast, just over the nipple, while the demi bra offers slightly more coverage due to the shape of the neckline - it covers from 50% to 70% of the breast.
Neckline
When you compare a balconette bra vs demi bra, you will notice that their necklines are slightly different. The balconette bra features a straight neckline, while the demi bra (‘demi’ means ‘half’ in French) has a heart-shaped neckline, which covers more skin.
Lift
Balconette bras offer a different lift style compared to the demi bra designs. Demi bras tend to have padding in the lower part of the cup, lifting the breasts both upward and inward, while bringing them closer together. This type of bra is perfect for those with wide set breasts. The balconette bra creates a beautiful lift upwards, emphasizing the beauty of your natural cleavage It’s an all-time favorite for many women as it can be paired with many different outfits.
Both of these styles help create a stunning silhouette, so in the end it all comes to your preferences and the outfits you love to wear. Pair gorgeous lace balconette bras with dresses that have low-cut and wide-set necklines or go for demi bras if you want an extra boost of confidence showcasing a bit more of your cleavage. All of our bra designs are made with premium fabrics and feature a variety of colours and stunning styles.
